Gwen on Heol Maengwyn is one of the most talked-about restaurants in Britain — Time Out named it the best restaurant in the UK for 2026. Since June 2026 it has been run by chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias as an eight-seat restaurant serving a single tasting menu of around 20 courses, cooked over fire around the seasons, with guests moving between two open kitchens as the evening goes on. Dinner starts at 6pm and lasts about three and a half hours, Wednesday to Saturday. It's a true special-occasion meal at a special-occasion price, and with so few seats you'll need to book well ahead.
