Antur Alpaca is run by Hannah and Dean at Geufron Farm, on the hillside above Bryncrug, where the paddocks look out over the Fathew Valley to Cardigan Bay. There are two ways to spend time with the herd. The Meet & Greet is a relaxed introduction to the alpacas, from about £12.50 for children. The Alpaca Walk lasts up to two hours: a welcome talk and safety briefing, then you lead the alpacas around the farm's private paddocks and help feed them at the end. Alpacas are herd animals, so each walk needs at least two alpacas booked, and you may share the session with other visitors. Everything is booked and paid for online in advance, so check current prices and dates on their website. The ground is grassy, uneven and uphill in places: wear sturdy footwear and be ready to walk uphill with both hands on the lead rope. Dogs aren't allowed on site, and sessions can be cancelled in extreme weather, such as a heatwave, for the alpacas' welfare. It's about a 10-minute drive from Tywyn, and a lovely half-day out for families and couples alike.
