Cregennan Lakes sit around 800ft up on the northern slopes of Cadair Idris, cared for by the National Trust. Two peaceful lakes offer some of the finest views in southern Eryri, taking in the Mawddach Estuary and Barmouth Bridge in the distance. There's an easy walk right from the car park for those wanting simple, spectacular views, plus longer circular routes up onto Pared y Cefn Hir for more adventurous walkers. A lovely spot for a picnic, and much quieter than many other Eryri beauty spots. Note the access road is narrow and winding with passing places — take it slowly.
