Cadair Idris rises to 893m and is one of the most dramatic mountains in Wales. Legend has it that anyone who sleeps on its summit will wake either a poet or a madman. The Minffordd Path is the finest route, climbing through ancient oak woodland into a glacial cwm before the final ridge to the summit.
