Barmouth Bridge (Pont Abermaw) is a Grade II listed Victorian viaduct carrying the Cambrian Coast railway line across the mouth of the Mawddach Estuary — at roughly half a mile long, one of the longest wooden viaducts in Wales. A separate footbridge alongside lets you walk or cycle across, with the Wales Coast Path and the start of the Mawddach Trail both running from here, giving genuinely spectacular views up the estuary towards Cadair Idris. It's a proper piece of railway heritage as well as a beautiful spot to watch the tide come in — well worth the short detour if you're exploring Barmouth or setting off along the trail towards Dolgellau.
